Pasta Bake in 20 minutes

On those nights when you have a really hungry family and you want to run away from the kitchen because you are exhausted - try this pasta bake. It is made with prepared Ingredients so all your doing is minimal cooking.


Ingredients:

1 box of Pasta - mini penne or elbows

1 cup red wine (any kind)

1 TBL Olive Oil

1/2 bag of Krafts Italian Cheese blend - a fantastic 5 cheese blend

1-2 jars of Marinara Sauce

1 large yellow onion

salt and black pepper

Italian dried spices - or anything you like with pasta and sauce

Fresh chopped parsley - if on hand

Optional - fresh peppers, red orange or yellow.

Optional - pinch of red pepper or Chile flakes


Directions:


Preheat Oven to 400 degrees


To begin - cook your pasta in heavily salted water - drain 1 full minute less than the box suggestions. Before you drain - reserve a cup of pasta water.


In a baking style casserole dish, place on medium high heat, then add the olive oil. When hot add the onions and the peppers if using.


When the onions have softened add the tomato sauce. If you love lots of red sauce add 2 jars. Bring the sauce to a light simmer then add the red wine and all your selected spices.


Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes.


Add next the cooked pasta into the sauce and add if needed a little bit of pasta water to ensure it is nice and moist.


Top the pasta with a good amount of the italian cheese blend.


Place into the oven and bake until the casserole is bubbling and the cheese is fully melted.


Finish by topping with fresh chopped parsley if on hand or add black pepper.
